Good morning!
First and foremost, thank you so much for allowing me to take a bit of space in your mailbox, that means a world to me.
This is the first of a 3 weeks series.
I start from the very beginning…
Here comes a spark, an apparently innocuous thought
In case you missed, in March 2021 I dedicated an issue of this newsletter about Connecting the Dots.
Being in a Powerful Creative Flow is like Falling in Love
Everywhere in literature, printed or digital, we are told to “let go”, to explore beyond our boundaries.
Lateral thinking, thinking outside the box, opening our mind to the unexpected and the “innovatio maxima” (yeah… we kinda speak latin too).
What nobody tells us is about what may happens when we are “in the flow”, when the Momentum is like a majestic swell…
Don’t get me wrong! This is fantastic and it is the reason why we embrace Creativity!
UNTIL… We get lost
If there is no vision of where we are going, if the is no crystal clear understanding of the Core Values of what we are creating, loosing the sight of the boundaries, of what really matters and getting lost in the Creative Frenzy is most common than you think.
“POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL”
In the early 1990, Pirelli (Italian tire manufacturer) coined this slogan: one of the most iconic ever. I do believe that this quote perfectly summarize why a project can drown in a quagmire of unnecessary and toxic features.
I know what you are thinking:
“When I start creating, not knowing where I’m going is the real value of the process!”
“If I already know what to do and I stick to it, it is not Creativity, it’s mere executing”
And also:
“You are mentioning those Core Values for a while now, what do you really mean with that???”
Is that ok for you?
Let me know in the comments.
