The Creativity Ambassadors
Who are they? How and why they can inspire us and, mainly, can we be Creativity Ambassadors?
Ciao!
So happy to meet you here.
Quick question: “Can you describe a Creativity Ambassadors?”
If someone would have asked this to me, my quick answer would be: “I don’t know what do you mean with Creativity Ambassador?”
Ok, I asked myself both this questions and a myriad more questions started racing in my mind.
I would like to share my “train of thoughts” about this and, please, feel free to jump in the conversation whenever you want.
First of all, can I describe the distinctive traits of a Creativity Ambassador?
About the sense of right and wrong, here another conundrum, what about the “person itself”? I mean, can we split the Creative Mind from the person and is the former enough to make that person a Creativity Ambassador?
This took me to another reflection. Creativity is a powerful force and in our minds it is always associated with making good. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always go this way.
It is now clear, at least to me, that a Creativity Ambassador must be a Positive Force, at least in some ways.
Ok, so the next question I asked myself is: what I see in a Creativity Ambassador?
.
And the final question is: can we be Creativity Ambassadors?
So romantic, right? Ok, let me stay with my feet on the ground.
Finally, how can we do that? It’s easier than you think, I may say… natural.
You DO you!
I have another dozen of sketchnotes about this but I stop here.
I would like to ask you a question, though. Can you name 3 people that you can call Creativity Ambassadors and had an impact on your life?
Let’s talk!
Signals & Dots
#think: Against the Cult of Originality: Emerson on the True Nature of Genius
An incredibly “disruptive” post by Maria Popova. I just quote e quote from Mark Twain:
“all ideas are second-hand, consciously and unconsciously drawn from a million outside sources.”
#think: Bonhoeffer’s “theory of stupidity”: We have more to fear from stupid people than evil ones
This post deeply resonates with me and I found myself nodding and thinking “yes, yes.. that’s it”
#inspiration: A compass, not a map
Very short post, some of you may find that it remarks the obvious. Probably because of the moment I’m living these days, I find it reassuring.
The Catch All
The next months we will talk about VUCA: Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity and how Creativity can help.
I went through the past issues of this newsletter and I have to be honest and admit that, if not all, some of them are ways too long.
Who has time to go through them?
For this reason the next month I’ll switch to a shorter, weekly editions on Thursday morning rather than Monday. Always at 7.30, though.
It’s and experiment, and I will be very grateful if you can tell me how it will go.
My Stuff
