Ciao!
This is a “painful” edition for me. Until the last minute I wasn’t sure if I wanted to publish it. Here a short voice introduction to this edition. I decided to record it because I wanted you to hear from my voice what I have to say rather than reading a big chunk of cold text.
A bit of advice :)
Let us start from where we left on February.
Now, I do believe that there is always something going on somewhere around us and we get it as an opportunity rather than a problem because of our Creative mindset.
How many times, when you were in a bad spot in your life, you have been told to “react”, “take is easy”, “be strong”… with the only effect that it bothers you or worsen the situation even more.
Truth is that not a lot of people are able/can give a real and helpful pep talk, particularly when they do not really listen, just wait for their turn to speak and use any sort of cloying “canned responses”.
And suddenly, a possible way out looms not too far. Just the thought of it is intoxicating and impact our perception.
Yeah, why not, let we get out of here. We can’t stand this anymore.
And we take it.
I’ve been there. Getting used and accepting mediocrity and/or being miserable, set a standard so low that, after all, we can even feel good in a, normally, barely acceptable position.
It took me some time just to become aware of this and when I eventually did, it was a shock.
What do you think about this?
I believe you get the point. Let us stop here and start fighting back and being creative.
Let me be clear, I’m not judging or disagreeing, as I said I’ve been there myself for a looooong time. Everybody is FREE to accept to live happily ever after even making choices that others may find questionable.
Luckily for us, there is an easy, yet not simple, way to step out of the “shitty chute”.
Finally, make sure your choices are your OWN choices. Seems redundant but very often we just react to occurrences rather that be proactive.
Ok, I hope you found this useful or somehow interesting.
Do not forget to jump in the chat to say hi!
Signals&Dots
think: Creative burnout: when the creativity tap runs dry
I like this post and I found myself going back to it more than one time.
think: Cognitive Reflection Test - Examples of Reacting vs Checking
Quoting: “The Cognitive Reflection Test (CRT) is a simple three question test that measures people’s tendency to answer questions with the first idea that comes to their mind without checking it.”
This is fun, give it a try.
inspiration: To be creative, Chinese philosophy teaches us to abandon ‘originality’
Definitely counter-intuitive yet inspiring and I quote:
“… creativity isn’t conceived as aiming at novelty or originality, but rather integration. Instead of aiming at something new, it aims at something that combines well with the situation of which it’s a part.”
inspiration: “Think of hard times like bad weather: they too will pass” and more essential life advice from Elders
Probably because I can already be considered an elder but… I love these pearls of wisdom.
The Catch All
Don’t ask me why but I got mesmerized by this video!
The mastery and the precision. I would love to own a pair of these boots, not only to use them but, mainly, for the object itself, what represent, the embodiment of knowledge and craftsmanship.
A question… is this Creativity? What do you think?
My Stuff
Ok, I think I covered everything for this month.
If you like this newsletter, if it inspires or help you in some ways, why not to tell your friends?

See you on May, 1st 2023 at h7.30 AM CEST and we talk about the Creativity Ambassadors: who are these people? How they can inspire us? Can we be a Creative Ambassador? Of course, the answer is YES!
Great piece mauro! You are right about not making compromises. Reading your piece makes me think about all the times i too an eating shit, coz that seems to be the easiest way out!
