Really interesting, I tried to find more about the history of drawn arrows, most people mentioned physical arrows as the origin. The earliest example of them being used as we do today I could find is this image from 1316 document shared on Reddit by u/Quietuus.

As I am using Graphviz as software on my windows pc a lot the default format of an edge is the plain arrow.

Just from you pointing it out here „it is cold“ and the double arrows are telling a better story!

Then, making the arrows appear as words: beautiful idea! I’ll play with that.
