Hello!!!
I hope you are enjoying your summer which is, by the way, not yet finished.
I took my time to slow down, to read and think and enjoy life. Among other things I did, I explored (again) the fascinating Zine universe.
Besides making them (which is greatly rewarding) I wanted to to understand how you can translate an idea to a Zine.
Well… what better occasion to practice my favorite methodology?
Here how to follow the Socratic conversation.
The question that started all: should I make Zines?
He said: “Exploring the concept of what it means to be ‘human’ in the 21st century sounds like a meaningful endeavor.”
“What steps do you think you should take next to bring this vision to life?”
“Your commitment to the physicality of zines and the intention to create a meaningful, engaged community is commendable. But, consider these questions…”
And here is my plan
Thus, I made the Zine nr. 0 with a mini-poster for the back
I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!
Would you like the mini poster delivered in your mailbox?
I mean a real copy, printed and sent with snail mail, the full-pack human experience!
Here how it works.
This is an experiment and I'm using MyPostcard to print and send my works as real cards worldwide.
I’m not in partnership with them but sending real postcards is so good so, why not giving it a try?

A few links you may find interesting
Nice Zines: a really nice website with a lot of info end resources. You can find them in Instagram too.
The Fanac: an incredible archive of fanzines. Regularly updated, it goes back to 1930. You can see zines typewritten or reproduced with mimeograph. Amazing!
Future Fantasteek!: “…brings together a trichotomy of investigation; art-zines and independent publishing; artist as social commentator and drawing as a means of immediate visual communication.” Just look at those zines!!!

Love this idea! Look forward to hearing more about your zine project. I’ve been preparing my first “yarn bomb” project and this has me thinking about if I’d like to leave a zine with it... Regarding location: I am a bit nervous about if it will be considered art or vandalism. I think perhaps a paper zine is less likely to be frowned on? I just love the idea of providing a surprise to a stranger which could possibly bring some unexpected joy to their day.
