"OMG! I'm stuck! - the infamous Creative Block"
Soon or later, this happened to almost all of us.
Ciao! Mauro here.
This is NOT yet another “Unlock the Magic” post.
Dealing with a creative block is something that we all have experienced at least once, in my case, a lot more than once.
What I would like to do here is to share what experiencing a creative block means to me, my feelings and how I cope with it.
You may find at first glance that my suggestions are only 2:
Give yourself time to catch a breath BUT not indefinitely: set a timeboxed gap and declutter your life
Never ever allow yourself to soak in the negativity broth: find something to do
Does this make some sense to you?
Just yesterday, June 28th, I was reviewing this newsletter. You know, there is always one last tweak. And while I was browsing my very convoluted digital archive I found by chances (apparently) a link to this Ted Talk
Ok, after viewing this I asked myself:
What are you talking about?
Now I would like, if I may, ask you the same question and ask again “what really is a creative block?”.
A few links you may find interesting
Oh, it came to my mind that you there are a few things I mentioned here that have been included in past edition of this newsletter. If you like to explore more, here are the links:
Tiny sci-fi story every day : I think this is genius. A bit catastrophic, but genius.
Cardboard Animal sculptures by Josh Gluckstein. You know how much I love cardboard, right?
If you like this newsletter, please consider to Like, Share and do not forget to leave a comment or chat with me and other Creative Minds in the app.
See you next Thursday, July, 27th to talk about Artist Trading Cards!
Ciao!
Mauro
